FIND A RACE

Genesis AR

The Genesis AR is just around the corner. By the time I am preparing the RMAS May newsletter, that race will be over and we will be looking forward to the race results and pictures.

The May 21 and 22 races are at Wellington Lake and Buffalo Creek. There is a 6-hour 'expert' course on Saturday (entry level race), a 6-hour 'competitive' course on Sunday, and a 12-hour course on Sunday. This will be a very full Adventure Racing weekend. These races will include biking, trekking, kayaking/canoeing, navigation, and maybe a ropes section.
The race directors have cultivated a friendly, but tenuous relationship with Big Foot. Big Foot may be a bit unpredictable race day.

Adventure On Your Own Time

This year the AOYOT course is at Pueblo State Park. The official course is open from May 28 to July 26, but this course can be done anytime if you are not interested in earning those RMAS points. This is a very busy park in the summer, so plan accordingly.
If you are not able to complete the course during the summer, no problem. This course is great to do throughout the winter too. This area is often free of snow most of the winter and the reservoir does not freeze over.
When you register for this course, feel free to register for the older AOYOT courses from 2020 and 2021. The maps are still available.

Teton Ogre Adventure Race

One of the best ways to explore the Teton Valley is through this spectacular adventure race in late June. There are two races starting on Saturday, June 25, the 8-hour and the 24-hour. The race directors always have well designed, challenging courses and fun swag.
Not sure if the ogre comes out to play, but you never know.

WHAT IS ADVENTURE RACING?

Most of our events are adventure races ranging from beginner 5 hour courses up to advanced 24 hour courses where individuals and teams of two or more navigate to a number of checkpoint coordinates within an allotted amount of time. The adventure races typically include a man-powered watercraft section, a mountain biking section, and a running/trekking section.
